GW Challenge Coin - First Edition

On August 28, 1788, George Washington wrote to Alexander Hamilton “I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.”

This gold and blue 1 ¾” commemorative coin is inscribed on one side with a portrait of George Washington and the words “First in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen - First Edition,” and on the other side the patriotic shield.
